Cynthia Trotter, administrative assistant, Plant Daniel, served in the Air National Guard, 255 Control Squadron for eight years before joining Mississippi Power.
As a staff sergeant in Information Management, Trotter processed deployment orders. She also provided direct support assistance to the colonel in charge of the unit and went on special assignments doing classified information searches at Eglin Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Pensacola.
During this time, Trotter also worked a full-time job as an executive assistant and owned a restaurant.
"It was a challenge juggling my military and civilian jobs at times" said Trotter. "I was fortunate to have a supervisor who worked with me when I needed to be away for special assignments. You have to find a balance and be organized, and this of course applies to my job here at Mississippi Power as well."
Trotter was enlisted from 1996 to 2004 when she was honorably discharged. She was awarded Airman of the Year in 1997 and was also awarded Airman of the Quarter twice that year.
