We hire Co-op, Intern, and graduating seniors with the following majors:
Electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, nuclear, industrial engineer, and computer engineers.
Other majors considered include: accounting, finance, computer science, information systems.
Cooperative Education Program
Our Co-op program is designed to give hands-on experience to talented undergraduates in the areas of Engineering, Business, Finance, and Computer Science. This is an excellent opportunity to put classroom theory into actual practice. Our program provides students with an opportunity to build on their experiences through increased responsibility each returning semester. Our goal through this program is to train you to become a full-time employee with Southern Company.

Southern Company has been inducted into the Cooperative Education Hall of Honor at the University of Cincinnati, birthplace of cooperative education in 1906. With more than 5,000 co-op students since the early 1920s, Southern Company has a long, deep history of turning promising students into valuable employees.

Our Internship program is designed to give hands-on experience to talented undergraduates in the areas of Engineering, Finance, Business, and Computer Science. Unlike other employers, we offer internships positions throughout the year to better accommodate your schedule. Our goal is to provide you with exposure to our company and challenge you with exciting work assignments.
