Undergraduate, Professional and Hourly Opportunities
The nuclear industry offers many opportunities for leadership and day-to-day operation of nuclear plants. We are actively recruiting successful students at major universities throughout the southeast. We are currently looking for candidates graduating with a BS degree in either electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering (other engineering disciplines are also considered), with strong leadership skills and a commitment to honest business practices and ethical values.
Summer Student and Cooperative Education Programs
Southern Nuclear's Summer Student and Cooperative Education Programs offer students the opportunity to work on engineering related projects that enhance classroom experiences. We invite students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership to apply.
Temporary positions are available in Alabama and Georgia at Plants Farley, Hatch, Vogtle, and our Corporate Office in Birmingham for students majoring in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering. Consideration will also be given to other engineering disciplines. In addition to engineering opportunities, a few positions are available in Financial Services and Information Resources.
In order to apply for a co-op position, you should work directly through your school's co-op office. All co-op candidates must be enrolled in a school co-op program and be referred accordingly. See your co-op advisor for interview dates and times Southern Company will be on your campus.
