The Natural South

Explore the natural resources and habitats in the Southeast on the award-winning The Natural South, presented by Southern Company. Hosted by Cathy Sakas, a professional naturalist and noted environmentalist, the show examines nature in the Southeast, including tree preservation, air quality, rare vegetation and endangered wildlife. The show is a great tool for teachers and environmental groups to illustrate what can be done to protect and enhance our environment.

About the host, Cathy Sakas

For the past 25 years, Cathy Sakas has been a professional interpretive naturalist specializing in tropical and subtropical marine and terrestrial environments. The series brought her an Emmy nomination and a conservation award from the Georgia Wildlife Federation. Sakas is presently employed at Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary where she serves as Education Coordinator.
