Southern Company promotes an inclusive work environment where all employees, regardless of their differences, feel welcomed, valued, respected and engaged.

Our diversity strategy is to:

  • Create an environment in which every employee can contribute and reach his or her full potential.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with diverse suppliers, including women and minority-owned businesses, to broaden access to products and services and provide economic inclusion.
  • Form partnerships to ensure the growth and vitality of the diverse communities we serve and in which we work and live and create business alliances.

“Diversity and inclusion are strengths that unlock our full potential. Developing our organizational culture and engagement the right way is a business imperative that facilitates our long-term success.”

Tom Fanning - Chairman, President and CEO of Southern Company
