Georgia Power's Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, Georgia, is delivering carbon-free nuclear energy to more than 1 million homes and businesses. This long-term investment will benefit customers and communities for the next 60-80 years and help ensure we meet the energy needs of our growing economy.

The site consists of four units. Vogtle Unit 3 entered commercial operation on July 31, 2023. Unit 4 entered commercial operation on April 29, 2024. Units 3 and 4 will support 800 permanent, high-paying positions.

Units 3 and 4 are the first newly constructed nuclear built in the United States in more than three decades. These units are the first U.S. deployment of the Westinghouse AP1000 Generation III+ reactor technology.

We are transforming our business operations as we build a diverse energy portfolio, develop innovative programs and services for our customers, and research new clean energy technologies. Having a diversified energy portfolio is crucial to how we are reducing emissions while maintaining reliability and affordability for those we serve.

In 2022, 30% of our generating capacity was from clean energy sources and we're the 5th largest owner of renewables in the U.S.
