Trusted to deliver

Southern Company is experiencing one of the most significant periods of growth in its history. Electric sales are projected to grow by 8% annually through 2029, driven by unprecedented projected energy demand from data centers, advanced manufacturing, and residential expansion across our footprint. This historic opportunity requires bold action, and we are ready.

Even as we rise to meet this challenge, affordability remains our top priority. Georgia Power will freeze base electric rates (excluding storm costs) through 2028, and Alabama Power will keep rates steady through 2027, giving families and businesses predictability at a time when many other costs are rising. Keeping our customers at the center of all we do guides every decision as we strengthen the energy systems that power our communities.

To prepare for the future, Southern Company is planning to invest more than $80 billion over the next five years to strengthen the grid and deploy advanced technologies that make our system smarter and more resilient. Our vertically integrated market structure gives us unmatched flexibility to plan, build, and operate efficiently. This helps ensure reliability and cost control as demand accelerates. At the same time, we are leveraging innovation, from advanced forecasting to modernized grids, to enhance resilience and performance.

Construction is already underway on 2.5 gigawatts of new generation in Georgia and Alabama, including natural gas and battery storage, all scheduled to come online within two years. The future for Southern Company is exciting, and the work we do now will shape that future. We are proving that growth and affordability can—and should—go hand in hand. We are delivering today while preparing for tomorrow, ensuring that our customers and communities remain at the center of all we do.

Historic demand requires historic leadership. At Southern Company, we are ready. We are trusted to deliver.

Mississippi Power helps secure $10 billion Compass investment

Mississippi Power played a pivotal role in bringing Compass Datacenters’ $10 billion hyperscale campus to Lauderdale County, one of the largest technology investments in the Southeast. The project will include eight data centers built over eight years, creating thousands of jobs and supporting Meridian with economic growth. By delivering approximately 500 megawatts of reliable energy and investing in critical infrastructure like a new substation at the I-20/59 Industrial Park, Mississippi Power helped ensure the site was ready for development.
