Setting the pace for future generations of women

In honor of Women’s History Month, Southern Company is spotlighting women throughout the system to honor their hard work and celebrate their achievements.

Heidi Wease, apprentice lineman at Georgia Power, has been with the company since 2018.

Born and raised on a farm in Fremont, Michigan, Heidi enjoyed the manual work and even uses the skills she learned during those days in her role today.

A trailblazer in her field and an inspiration, Heidi is setting the pace for women who want to work as a member of a line crew.

She is always mindful of how she addresses situations at work, because she wants to be an example for our future workforce.

“It’s never about yourself," says Heidi.

Heid also wears many hats in addition to her hard hat. A mother of five children and a dog mom to French bulldogs, it is important to Heidi to make time to help her kids with homework, attend their sporting events and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
