Southern Company employees rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Monday, commemorating 25 consecutive years of dividend increases.
Chairman, President and CEO Chris Womack was joined by members of the company’s investor relations team and employees representing critical roles across the business including field operations, engineering and natural gas services that support the communities Southern Company is privileged to serve.
The milestone places Southern Company among a select group of companies recognized for sustained dividend growth—reflecting disciplined execution, operational strength and a focus on reliability and affordability across its energy portfolio.
“As we mark 25 consecutive years of dividend increases, I’m reminded that this kind of consistency isn’t a headline—it’s a daily commitment,” Womack said. “It’s earned through the work required to keep our system running safely and reliably, to solve problems before they’re seen, and to deliver energy that customers can depend on. That steady performance—day after day, year after year—is what allows us to continue serving our customers and communities.”
